Frequently Asked Questions

MISSION BUILDERS FAQ

What are we building?
We are expanding our current building so more people can be led to Jesus. The project includes a new worship center with space for approximately 1,000 people, renovated kids and student ministry spaces, expanded lobby and outdoor gathering areas, and expanded technology and media environments. More than a building project, Mission Builders is about making room for the people God will bring: children, teens, young adults, families, and neighbors. We are envisioning thousands of people who will be led to Jesus in the years ahead.
Why are we doing this now?
God is already bringing people to NorthCross through personal invitation and faithful witness. Over 1,500 people call NorthCross home, more than half have joined since 2020, and weekend attendance now averages 750-850 people. At the same time, worship services are often full, kids and student spaces are stretched, VBS cannot expand to meet community demand, and volunteers lack adequate room to gather and train. To keep welcoming and discipling the people God is bringing, we need a facility that can match the ministry momentum he has already created.
How will this project impact Lakeville and the surrounding communities?
A larger worship center will make room for more people to gather around God's Word; renovated kids and student spaces will welcome more children, teens, and guest families; expanded lobby and outdoor areas will create room for hospitality, connection, and outreach; and expanded technology and media environments will strengthen livestreaming, digital resources, and volunteer development. Together, these spaces will help NorthCross extend biblical truth, deepen relationships, and serve the community more effectively.
What is the fundraising goal and how was it determined?
The total Mission Builders campaign goal is $14.9 million over three years. We worked with our architect, general contractors and technology vendors to compile the fund-raising goal of $14.9 million. This goal assumes no debt and does include contingencies related to building in the future

Reaching this goal will take gifts of all sizes, including one-time gifts and commitments fulfilled over time, as everyone participates as the Lord leads.
Is NorthCross considering a loan?
To help manage the timing gap between construction expenses and incoming commitment receipts, NorthCross may explore external financing. To protect the church's long-term financial health, leadership will ensure any borrowing aligns with future financial viability, and all external financing must receive congregational approval prior to implementation.
How is campaign giving different from regular giving?
Regular giving supports NorthCross's ongoing ministry and operations. Mission Builders gifts are given above and beyond regular giving and are designated specifically toward expanding our current building and creating more room to lead people to Jesus. When giving through SecureGive, donors should select Mission Builder. Checks should include Mission Builder in the memo line so each gift is applied correctly.
Are gifts tax-deductible?
Gifts to NorthCross Church are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. For specific tax questions, please consult a tax adviser.
Can I give online, by check, or through other methods?
Yes. Donors may give securely online through SecureGive  or by check. Donors may also give appreciated assets, such as stock or mutual funds, crypto currency, or those aged 70.5 or older may give qualified charitable distributions.  When giving, select or note Mission Builder so the gift is applied correctly.  See the Mission Builder Give page for more information.
Who can I contact if I have questions?
