God graciously provides us with all that we need for this life and for eternity. God has also provided us direction in His Word about how to manage the money and material blessings that He gives. As we consider our plan for giving, it’s good to remember that Scriptural direction.
1. The handling of our material blessings is not just a personal issue. Because all that we have comes from God, it’s also spiritual issue.

2. God’s encouragement to us is much more than just, “Give to church.” He asks us to honor Him by managing all that we have to His glory.
“Everything comes from You, and we have given You only what comes from Your hand.” (1 Chronicles 29:14)

3. God doesn’t require a certain dollar amount in our thank-offerings. He also doesn’t want our leftovers. God deserves our first and best.
“This poor widow has put more in the treasury than all the others.” (Mark 12:43)

4. In part, contentment comes with the awareness that God has blessed us with more than we need.
“Godliness with contentment is great gain.” (1 Timothy 6:6)
